The Vermilion Council on Aging is proud to celebrate a monumental milestone: 50 years of service, compassion, and commitment to the seniors and disabled citizens of Vermilion Parish. As we prepare for our 50th Birthday Bash on December 11, 2025, we’re not only honoring our past—we’re laying the foundation for a stronger, more connected future.
This celebration marks more than half a century of meals delivered, friendships forged, classes offered, needs met, and lives uplifted. But as we honor our history, we also see clearly the challenges our community faces today—especially the critical need for reliable, accessible transportation.
A Capital Campaign with Heart and Purpose
At the Birthday Bash, we will proudly kick off a year-long Capital Campaign to establish a full Transportation Service for senior citizens and individuals with disabilities in Vermilion Parish. This initiative isn’t just important—it is essential.
Every day, seniors in our community struggle to reach medical appointments, grocery stores, pharmacies, and vital social programs. Many live alone. Many no longer drive. And too often, the lack of transportation becomes a barrier to health, independence, dignity, and connection.
We believe our seniors deserve better.
Our vision is to build a safe, reliable, parish-wide transportation service that ensures no senior or disabled citizen is ever left behind. This effort will transform lives, reduce isolation, improve health outcomes, and strengthen the fabric of our community.
But we cannot do it alone.
We Need You—Now More Than Ever
As we celebrate this milestone year, we are asking for your help. Your generosity—whether large or small—will directly support the creation of a transportation program that meets one of the greatest unmet needs in Vermilion Parish.
A gift of any amount makes a difference.
You can donate securely through our Support Our Mission page on our website. Your contribution is not just a donation—it is an investment in independence, safety, and community for the people who helped build Vermilion Parish into the place we all love.
Together, We Can Drive Change
