Caring changes us.

The Courage to Care

For generations, families, neighbors, spiritual leaders, town folk, and even strangers have come together with love and compassion to ensure that our older community members are cared for and cherished. It saddens us deeply that in today’s world, many of us hardly know our neighbors. As families grow and children move away, our cherished seniors often find themselves feeling isolated, yearning for the caregiving support they so desperately need. It’s troubling to witness neighbors not always rallying together to uplift our elderly. Our heartfelt mission is to reach out to those who feel alone and forgotten, offering warmth and connection. It takes immense courage to care, and this simple act of kindness can transform not just their lives, but ours as well. We sincerely hope that our neighbors, friends, community leaders, religious figures, and local shop owners feel inspired to embrace our mission in service to the seniors of Vermilion Parish. All too often, we encounter individuals struggling to make ends meet, facing the heart-wrenching decision between paying their utility bills and affording vital medications or groceries. Our organization is wholeheartedly dedicated to restoring dignity and a quality life for those we serve. We recognize that Vermilion Parish is vast, with many residents living in rural areas where access to food and social interaction is challenging. We ask: can we count on you to join us in this courageous, essential, and life-affirming work within our community? Many hearts are eager to help, and if you feel called to join us, please reach out. Every helping hand matters in this important cause, and together we can uplift our elders, who hold a wealth of wisdom from navigating hardships that far exceed our own. Let’s honor and care for them now while we have the opportunity. Can we count on your support?
