If you’re a senior citizen aged 60 and older residing in Vermilion Parish, we truly care about you and have some wonderful programs and services tailored just for you! While many of you may be familiar with our meals program, we want you to know there’s so much more we can do to bring joy to your day. For those of you who might be homebound or find it challenging to prepare meals, we offer a compassionate home-delivered meal service to ensure you receive nutritious meals right at your doorstep, showing that you are valued and remembered.
If you cherish a warm and inviting social atmosphere, we welcome you to join us for our group meals at the Senior Center meal sites in Abbeville, Erath, and Kaplan. We understand how important community can be, and our caring team is here to gently guide you through the enrollment process whenever you reach out to us with a call!
But that’s not all! At our senior centers, we invite you to enjoy a variety of fun activities like bingo, crochet classes, and French table discussions designed to entertain and engage you. These gatherings are a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends and nurture social connections. We’re excited to expand our activities and genuinely welcome your ideas, as your voice matters to us!
We understand that many of our beloved elders require extra support, and our Outreach Manager, with a compassionate heart and extensive experience serving senior citizens in Vermilion Parish, is here to help connect them with the services they need. Through our Information and Assistance and Outreach programs, seniors can discover a wealth of community resources that extend beyond what we offer, ensuring they receive the assistance that can truly make a difference in their lives. Our Outreach Manager specializes in Case Management for the most in need clients.
We genuinely recognize that some of you may require additional support at home during challenging times. That’s why we provide in-home services, such as our Homemaker program, which assists with household tasks, and our respite program, thoughtfully designed to offer caregivers a much-needed break while ensuring that their loved ones receive care and attention.
